Look at how our 2-1/2" and 1-1/8" PolarGuard doors are designed and constructed, and you can see where their superior thermal efficiency comes from.

It begins with pultruded fiberglass panels–which insulate better than aluminum–with polyurethane foam cores. There are no thru rivets in the panel centers to transmit cold. Then we add vinyl joint seals and polypropylene end caps. As a total system, they all work together to give you the most effective barrier against BTU loss.

It also turns out that the system is as strong as it is efficient. Your PolarGuard doors will not only insulate better, they have what it takes to last longer and be easier to maintain. In a word, they're tough, TODCO-TOUGH.

	Our most recent innovation is MagniCoat™ rivets. They solve the ugly problem of rust-stained doors at no extra cost to you. Standard on all TODCO wood and fiberglass Dryfreight and PolarGuard® doors, only MagniCoat rivets give you the rust protection of stainless steel – without the stainless cost.
	No thru rivets in door center for a smoother area for graphics and decals.
	END CAPS provide strength and protection. Our polypropylene end caps seal off the inner core. And our unique tight-fasten design provides extra strength to reinforce the panel ends.
	DOOR PANEL SEALS retain cold air. When PolarGuard is closed, the joint seals compress for a weather-tight seal that traps cold in – and traps dirt and moisture out.
	Moisture-resistant and thermally efficient FOAM CORE. Each fiberglass panel is filled with our moisture-resistant, formed-in-place polyurethane foam – creating thousands of air pockets, and further preventing BTU loss. The foam also adds panel strength and increased rigidity.
	LIFEGUARD Lock protects driver. Our Optional LifeGuard™ lock opens easily from the inside, by actuating the emergency release – even when the door is padlocked and secured. This lifesaving feature eliminates the risk of being trapped inside a locked reefer truck body or trailer.
	SAME HEADROOM, less weight. Our 1-1/8" PolarGuard door needs a minimum of 7" of headroom – the same as a 3/4" plastic door, and weighs 5% less. Our 2-1/2" PolarGuard door requires 9" of headroom and weighs significantly less than other doors in its class.
	Pultruded fiberglass panels provide a lightweight, smooth surface. And our strong, puncture-resistant fiberglass won't show dents or blemishes, like those found on wood or aluminum panel surfaces.
	Our counterbalance shaft and springs are electrocoated to protect against rust.
